THESE four teens may not be in a reality show like so many aspiring stars these days but they are tipped for big things. They are among 11 students graduating next month from the Talent Development Project, an entertainment industry program.Launched in 1992, it has produced such famous alumni as the band Human Nature, country musicians the McClymonts, singer Paulini and composer John Foreman. The latter two went on to find fame on Australian Idol, Foreman as the show's musical director. The program will stage its annual graduation concert on August 26 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. It will be hosted by Foreman and broadcaster Alan Jones and feature performances by Idol 2008 winner Wes Carr and 2006 runner-up Jessica Mauboy. The Start Me Up concert will be held for the first time in the evening, to accommodate the inaugural TDP master.class, a workshop hosted by Foreman. The performers and industry professionals will provide music hopefuls with practical ideas about how to make a career out of their passion. The graduates, all from NSW public schools, will be given a star makeover and be dressed in designer clothes from sponsor David Jones.Every year, up to 50 performers from state schools are selected through a rigorous audition process, with fewer than 10 making it through the year-long program of classes taught by industry experts.Among this year's batch are: Emily Edmonds, a 17-year-old opera singer; Meriana Gyory, a 16-year-old comedic songwriter; and 19-year-olds Ricky Bloomfield, a singer-songwriter from Bega, and Shane McGrath, a self-taught guitarist from Deniliquin.
